Shannon Campbell

Shannon circus journey began in 2014 when she discovered acroyoga and aerial arts through the power of community and interdisciplinary training, right here in Reno at the old Generator warehouse. She learned the fundamentals of aerial silks from the welcoming community at the Genny, and discovered aerial arts to be her most comfortable form of self-expression. Shannon sees her aerial arts journey as more of a personal lifestyle than a sport or training regiment. For her, aerial arts are healthy and fun outlets for creative energy as well as a means of personal development and community-building. In this way, she embodies Aerial Equanimity’s ideal of living a lifestyle of movement as a means of balancing and re-calibrating the self.

Shannon has had  a varied background in aerial arts, but her favorite experience so far has been teaching silks in Costa Rica, where she discovered that sometimes the strongest medium of communication is not a spoken language, but rather the shared understanding of an artistic form. Shannon takes the good days with the bad as she develops her art, and is always striving to grow and find grace in movement. We are very excited for our students to learn from her unique background and experience.
