Who is Parker Hoshizaki?

Philosopher, acroyogi, chronic dreamer

Parker has sat on Aerial Equanimity’s board of directors since 2020. He chairs the fundraising and legal committees, and sits on the executive and programs committee. Parker is an academic, an acroyogi, and Aerial Equanimity’s full-time hard carry (I’m the one who made this website—hi there! Let me know if anything is broken by emailing me at parker@aereno.org) He is also a rigger, a manager, a secretary, a custodian, and whatever Aerial Equanimity needs him to be on any given day—and yes, the ‘first mate’ on this crazy pirate ship. His interests outside of Aerial Equanimity include rebuilding the Reno acroyoga community which was decimated by the Covid-19 pandemic and debating philosophy—particularly contemporary moral issues hinging on the intersection of identity & motivation psychology and philosophy of mind.

Parker’s dream is to be a shepherd.

“Some people can’t face the world. It doesn’t mean they’re weak. Just scared.” —Parker
