Teacher Spotlight: Shannon Campbell

  • 3705 Wagoner Drive Reno, NV 89502 United States (map)

Once again, our Aerial Equanimity team has grown! This new addition may be an old face to many of you, but those of you who know her will be thrilled to know she will be teaching some lessons for our students. Shannon will be covering Caterpillars and Butterflies Groups 1/2 classes starting this Friday (3/19/2021) until Wednesday (3/24/2021) while our primary aerial arts instructor Karynn is away at a leadership conference with the Fly Black Aerialists! Don’t worry, the schedule is unchanged, just expect to meet a new friend on Friday!

Shannon is an active community member who has been involved in the Reno circus community since 2014, and has accrued a varied background as an aerial arts teacher, performer, and circus art facilitator since then. Like every artist, she brings her own unique and personal style to her practice, and has a unique perspective to offer on style and flourish in what may be familiar skills. The reason we are particularly excited to be welcoming Shannon to our team, however, is because she embodies our vision of the role of movement arts in a better world. For Shannon, exploring and creating movement in aerial arts is a lifestyle that exceeds a simple athletic endeavor. It is a way to disconnect from the irrelevant in order to tap into the creative self—permitting introspection and reorientation toward healthy and productive ideas. Because of her holistic passion for a lifestyle of movement and her extensive experience with aerial arts, we know Shannon will inspire our students the same way she inspires us!
